Morgan Jones | Building Tools for the Modern Elevator Contractor
Morgan Jones has spent nearly a decade within the vertical transportation industry, almost entirely rooted in the growth of Torin Drive North America. Starting in 2016, Morgan held several roles, including General Manager, before transitioning to her current position on the Hyperion commercial team. Today, she represents the full portfolio of Hyperion brands, bringing a background in marketing and telecom to a highly technical field.
Morgan’s approach to the industry is defined by what she calls "grit and grind." Without a formal college degree, she has built her career by being a "sponge", absorbing technical knowledge from mentors and field experience. She is a frequent face in motor rooms, preferring to see where equipment lives rather than staying behind a desk. This practical perspective led to one of her most significant contributions: the development of the Torin Drive configurator.
The configurator was born out of a need for efficiency. Before its launch, quoting was a manual, slow process. Morgan helped build a digital presence that allows customers to input survey details and receive automated quotes, CAD drawings, and rope life calculations in seconds. By providing technical resources 24/7, the tool solves the real-world pressure of tight schedules and the need for immediate documentation.
Beyond the technology, Morgan views Hyperion as a "family of brands," a term she uses intentionally to describe the collaboration between sales, engineering, and warehouse teams. She credits her growth to the willingness of industry veterans to share information and supports the idea that there are "no hard lines" between competitors when it comes to advancing the trade.
“I’ve tried to take life like a sponge and absorb anything and everything that people will share with me or invest in me. Learn at every opportunity so that I can use that to be a value.”
For those new to the industry, Morgan’s advice is direct: get plugged in. From NAEC conferences to regional golf tournaments and the VTMP program, she emphasizes that the path to success is built through education and networking.
